Sanda Instructor Practical Exam

Sanda Instructor Course

Hi all,it has been way too long since I've updated the blog because of my National Service(NS) duties that every Singaporean man has to fulfill. Everyone has a unique NS experience in one way or another but I can say that mine is certainly one of the best, with honour and glory. I had to jump out of the aircraft from 1000 feet, undergo hardcore training in dense and humid forests and other vocational training to be qualified as a SAF commando. So this is me after so long

So coming back to martial arts, specially invited from China,ex Sanda Champion Chen Chao and Beijing's National Sanda coach have recently conducted a Sanda instructor course here first time in Singapore. Here are some of the highlights:

Bodyguards and Assassins

Oh before we blog about Paris,I happen to catch Bodyguards and Assassins with my bros yesterday. This movie feature some of today's brightest stars such as Donnie Yen,Nicholas Tse,Leon Lai,Simon Yam,Tony Leung Ka-Fai,Eric Tsang and even Cung Le.Briefly, the story is about these men loyalty to fight and protect their young master,at the same time,to obtain Democracy for the future China. In the event, many people sacrificed themselves while fighting the Imperial Court.Catch this awesome action packed film while i rate it 4/5 for both the storyline and the fighting action. However, the starting tend to be a little boring.

Wrestling with pinfalls

Fitfighter's 100th post will feature an extremely popluar combat sport in the Olympics, wrestling.

As you all know,Wrestling is an ancient martial art that uses grappling type techniques such as clinch fighting, throws and takedowns, joint locks, pins and other grappling holds. A wrestling bout is a physical competition, generally between two people, who attempt to gain and maintain a superior position. Wrestling is one of the oldest of martial arts with references to it as early as the Iliad that recounts the Trojan War in the 13th or 12th century BC. There are a wide range of styles with varying rules with both traditional historic and modern styles. Wrestling techniques have been incorporated into other martial arts as well as military hand-to-hand combat systems. So the main objective is to ground your opponent on the mat and secure a pinfall.

The next posting will showcase our Europe tour in the beautiful Paris.
