2011 National Sanda/Sanshou Championships
Yesterday was the first day of the 2011 National Sanda/Sanshou Championship 60kg Youth category which I(in red) won the gold medal.Attached are the videos of round 1 and 2.Today will be day 2 of the event (:

9/5/10 Singapore vs Malaysia Sanda/Sanshou fight 3
This bout between Singapore Sanshou team represented by Louis Wong in red,as he squared off against Malaysia's Johor Sanda team in black.
It was a close match but at the end of fight,the black corner won by unanimous decision.

This is the 62kg category bout between Singapore Koon San Sanshou team represented by Eugene Ng in red,facing off against Malaysia Sanda team in black.
Singapore won this match.
The event was held in Braddel Height CC earlier today.

Leg catching and sweeping(sanda under-hook grab)
YO!It's been a long time folks.For the past few months,i had been mugging like a mad iron man for my Cambridge O levels examination.Well,at least all the effort had been worthwhile.Hahas.

Healthy Heart Day on 03/10/2009
Healthy Heart Day was commemorated on 03/10/2009 to encourage all Singapore citizens to lead a healthy lifestyle.Citizens are inculcated to consume a well-balanced diet and exercise regularly.On Sunday,3rd October,Bishan and Toa Payoh town council had come together and organise a day of mass exercise,games and performing items at Toa Payoh stadium.Ministers including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs,Mr Wong Kan Seng and other grassroots leaders were present at the event.
Koon San sanshou had been honoured to kick off the Healthy Heart Day 2009 with several performances.Here's a seek peek of the intriguing items.

MMA/sanshou exhibition fights 3
Here's the 65kg category bout featuring koon san sanshou(black corner) and muay thai workshop(red corner).
After a few fierce rounds,it was the black corner that emerge victorious.

And what shocking news when pop icon Micheal Jackson was pronounced dead this morning 3am local time.He was 50.It appeared that he suffered a cardiac arrest and couldn't be revived by paramedics at all.Autopsy will be done later today.What tragedy,R.I.P the King of Pop.

MMA/sanshou exhibition fights
Hi everyone!It has been some time since i blogged.Main reason was due to by heavy schoolwork and oncoming examinations.For the next few posts,we will be featuring a few MMA/sanshou exhibition fights held last Sunday,7/6/09 at Bradell height CC.The first bout fall under the '60 kg' category with koon san sanshou representing the red corner and muay thai workshop as the black corner.Even though this contest was situated for only a round,it was a fierce one.However at the end of the day,there could only be one winner and the red corner won the match.

My Sanshou Training
Here's a sneak peak of my sanshou training last week.
Focusing on stamina and throwing techniques.
A typical round would last 2 minutes,constantly throwing your opponent for 3 cycles.End of each cycle would make you totally exhausted.

Sanda exhibition
Yesterday night was the first of the two sanda event in the month of July before the big fight in august.
10 matches from different clubs were featured and the crowd respond was overwhelming.
We hope to take this sport to a new level in Singapore and hopefully cultivate a few international sportsman for the Youth Olympics.
Next event will be held in bishan on Sunday,20 July.Hope to see you there !

Typical training session in my sanshou club
Hi,attached below are few photographs and short clips taken from a typical training session in my sanshou club.Training is always starts with some light stretching, follow by skipping and jogging to warm up.
Next we have break falling exercises and throwing practices,soon the students will dispersed as beginners trained boxing while intermediate and senior students trained advance fighting techniques.Sometimes these exercise can be very tough and challenging, pushing you to discover your limit and improve beyond your threshold thus recondition yourself to your need level of fitness !
